Fabric BI Transition

Modified on Thu, 10 Jul at 12:55 PM

UPDATE 7/10/2025

EMAIL SENT TO FRANCHISEES, 3pm CST

This past week we have made a lot of progress within BI.  Level 1 reports are live, stable, and auto-refreshing. All tickets have been resolved regarding access issues. All Level 2 and Level 3 reports have been in active testing.

We formed a TLL BI Task Force made up of 4 franchisees and our home office Ops team, who have been reviewing the reports in real time, and providing valuable feedback. Their insight helped us fine-tune testing, and as of today, you will see your Salon Info report will be live by end of day! We expect the rest of the level 2 & 3 reports to go live very soon.

Important to note: We are actively working on updating the Metrics Definitions page. It has long been neglected, and what we discovered when working with our BI Task Force was that most of the confusion around reports had to do with not understanding exactly how the metrics were calculated vs MBO reporting. We expect to have a much more robust definitions page in the near future as well. In the meantime, if you have any specific questions around any metrics you see in Lash Dash, just ask your FBC, or submit a helpdesk if you think something is incorrect.

And as always, keep an eye on the Report Tracker/Live Blog for real-time updates on what’s been launched and what’s coming next.

Thank you again for your partnership and support through this rollout. Wishing you a fantastic weekend ahead!

UPDATE 7/1/2025 - #2

The systemwide report has finished it's update at 2:27pm CT with complete June data.

UPDATE 7/1/2025

Dear Franchisees & Managers,

We officially launched the new Fabric reporting system last Friday. While we’re excited to launch this improved platform, we’re also aware that some of you have had trouble accessing your reports, or were getting a pop up, and I want to acknowledge the issue and the fix.

Here’s what happened:

We identified an issue related to how Microsoft recognized your user account inside our new Fabric environment. Because your login is technically seen as “external” to the HTT system, it didn’t always match correctly with our security settings in the reports. This is why you may be able to log in, but still not see your data, or why you may have seen the PowerBI Pro License pop-up.

The Solution:

We worked through the night, to identify and deploy the fixes, and they were implemented this morning. This update will ensure your access is tied to your actual email address and not blocked by backend formatting mismatches. Additionally, we resolved a licensing error that was causing some users to be prompted for a Power BI Pro license. That’s now corrected across all users. We expect access to stabilize over the next 24 hours as Microsoft syncs the changes behind the scenes. Finally, we added the logic in to the live report workspace to automatically update each morning once data is received in snowflake. You might see systemwide at this moment is still a day behind, that is because it is finalizing it’s “auto” refresh now.

Today:

  • We have reached out to several of you that were affected, and confirmed your access is granted.
  • If you’re still seeing the PBI pop up, you might just have a caching issue, and you can try clicking THIS LINK. to bypass the cache. (It’s the same workspace app, just the fabric-specific URL, but it has been proven to help with caching issues).
  • You can also give it time, Microsoft can take a few hours to stabilize, as noted above.
  • If you’ve submitted a Help Desk ticket, there’s no need to resubmit, we’re going through them all with urgency.
  • Systemwide is finalizing it’s refresh with all of June data now. Once it’s complete, you will be able to tell because July will show up as an option in the month selector.

Going forward:

  • There will be no more access issues, or PowerBI blockers, due to the stabilization and back end updates to settings.
  • We are actively reviewing all of the Level 2 reports in the development workspace to ensure data accuracy. As those are reviewed and tested, they will go live. Keep an eye on the tracker for up to date status.

Thank you for your continued patience. I know these issues are frustrating, especially after waiting for this transition, and I want to assure you we’re working quickly and carefully to make it right.

UPDATE 6/28/2025

Email sent to all TLL Franchisees:

Dear Franchisees & Managers,

Your Level 1 reports are now live in the NEW LASH DASH! Data will begin auto-refreshing on Monday! Please read for complete update.

ACCESS: Good news! We were able to pull in all emails that were previously granted access and copy them over. We’ve tested with several owners and access seems to be working as expected!

A MESSAGE FROM TYLER:

The link we provided earlier this week directed you to a specific report, rather than the full workspace where all of your reports and dashboards are now available. I want to personally apologize for this oversight and any confusion it may have caused. I take responsibility for the miscommunication and appreciate your patience as we continue to improve the process. Please use this updated link to access the full workspace: https://app.powerbi.com/Redirect?action=OpenApp&appId=4371ea8a-279a-4453-b329-9783095456f4&ctid=0c0e35dc-188a-4eb3-b8ba-61752154b407&experience=power-bi

This link will take you to the workspace where all of your authorized reports and dashboards can be found in one place.

As part of this migration, we’ve ensured that your permissions and location access remain exactly as they were previously, using the same email addresses already set up in our system. If you experience any issues accessing reports or if your permissions don’t look correct, please reach out directly to our support desk at help@thelashlounge.com. We are more than happy to accommodate any necessary updates or fixes to ensure you have access to the reports you need.We are also actively working through the remaining additions and requests that have come in through the help desk. Our goal is to have everything sorted and up to date before the start of next week. Thank you for your continued patience as we finalize our new reporting environment.

Thank you again for your understanding and flexibility as we transition to this improved environment.

Over the coming days/weeks, additional reports will go live in your workspace as they are completed. You can track progress here: https://help.httbrands.com/support/solutions/folders/156000937391

FRANWORTH UPDATE:

We were recently informed that Franworth is officially ceasing all client services on June 30th, including hosting the old Lash Dash. This means the old Lash Dash will be offline on June 30th. Please plan accordingly and consider June 29th your final day to access the old reports.

TL/DR BULLET POINTS:

  • Here's the final link to bookmark, delete all old ones.
  • You have access to NEW Lash Dash with every email that had access in the past
  • If you want to add another TLL email, or are having any access trouble, submit a Help Desk ticket here
  • OLD Lash Dash is turning off completely June 30th.
  • Keep track of new reports coming live on the tracker here.

Thank you again for your flexibility as we transition to this improved system.

UPDATE 6/24/2025

Email sent to all TLL Franchisees:

Dear Franchisees & Managers

The new Fabric reporting environment is now live and available for you to access. We will still call it Lash Dash, but it’s the new and improved Lash Dash, built on Microsoft Fabric!

You can log in anytime using your owner @thelashlounge.com email address. *If you are a manager, and need access, have your owner submit a ticket: here

We strongly recommend bookmarking the link for easy access: https://app.fabric.microsoft.com/groups/e4014f6c-25b3-460e-83dd-

74278125c456/list

Current experience:

  • If you’re not logged in, you’ll see the Fabric sign-in prompt.
  • If you’re logged in, Fabric will auto-grant a Fabric (Free) license, then show “Sorry, you don’t have access to that group.”
    • This is expected while the dashboards are still in staging. Once we publish reports, the link will become populated.

Please note: Reports are not yet live, but they will begin populating in your workspace very soon. This is simply your early access to the environment. A separate announcement will confirm the go-live date and what to expect. No action needed if you hit the access-denied message, just wait for the go-live email.

To stay up to date on which reports are coming live, and when, follow our real-time tracker here:

https://help.httbrands.com/support/solutions/folders/156000937391

We’ll send another message once your Level 1 reports are live and ready to use. Thanks as always for your patience and partnership as we bring this new platform online.
